Real Food and Real Stores!

A friend and I spent six days in the capital...eating...ok, we did a little more than that, but when I got home I felt like I had been eating for a week. The capital has some great places to eat really good "Western" food. I was really excited to get eat a chicken fajita sandwich, a philly cheese steak, and pasta during my time there. Since there's not a lot of variety of cereals in my city (Cornflakes anyone?), I was also really excited to find some cheap granola. I bought enough to bring back with me and I'll be eating it for a month!

There's also a great coffee shop, Coffee Trader, which has a really great Snickers Latte. It was fabulous. Not only was the coffee good, but it was so refreshing and life-giving to have a chance to hang out in a public place without being the center of attention. We spent time reading, hanging out, and doing other work. I realized that this is one of the things that I miss the most - the atmosphere to just "be" in a public place and not stuck at home.

We also had the chance to go shopping. This store it huge, but unfortunately, it had very few "culturally appropriate" outfits (long sleeves, loose fitting, and long). I was successful, though, and was able to find two shirts to add to my very small wardrobe. Shopping was made even better by the fact that they were only $5 each. I also realize that, on some level, I really miss malls to just go and walk around and hang out in. This store was so big, though, that I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of choices.
