A Hike Up The Mountain

My roommate and I decided to take a hike up the mountain for some exercise and to see what's up there. We didn't see a lot of wildlife since we primarily walked through villages. Here are some pictures we took along the way.

Laundry anyone? We walked up to a place that is some kind of reservoir where some women were doing their laundry. You can see the colorful clothes that the women in the village wear very unlike the women of the city who only wear black.

The villages that sit on the mountain and have winding paths up. These paths pass by houses and small farm plots. People walk up taking their food, drinking water, and anything else. These villages probably have electricity and running water (for cleaning), but farther up the mountain, they may not even have that! One thing I couldn't help thinking about was how challenging it would be to walk safely up in the dark or in the rainy season!

Of course, you can't walk too far around here without running into a donkey, camel, goat, sheep, cat, or dog. When we turned around from taking this picture there was a goat. It would have been a great picture until we realized that we had been standing in front of someone's house for too long...they then invited us in for lunch. We didn't go in, though, since we knew that we had been rude by just hanging around their house.
