Winter Park in September

A friend of mine lives in Winter Park, Colorado. She invited me up to spend a weekend with her and hang out. We had a lot of fun catching up. It was fun to see where she lives and hear about her life and hopes for the future. The weekend was encouraging and a great opportunity to get out of the city and into the mountains!

To get to Winter Park from Denver requires driving over a mountain pass. I traveled on some pretty cold days. On my way up, I ran into rain on either side of the pass and even some snow flakes on top. On the way back, it was cloudy, and cold, but the pass and view were beautiful!

September is the start of the fall season in Colorado. What a great time to head into the mountains! The Aspen leaves were starting to turn a beautiful gold and other trees were starting to turn shades of reds and browns. Since it was my first chance to experience fall in several years, I took the opportunity to take a short hike into Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a beautiful day and I had a lot of fun.
